Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

In the pressure cooker, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Add butter if desired.

Close the pressure cooker and cook at high pressure for 3 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.

Open the pressure cooker, fluff the rice with a fork. Serve hot.
