About Renardo Cuisine
Renardo is a Canadian cooking resource for people who own modern kitchen tools and want to actually understand them. Recipes come with explanations. Instructions come with reasons.
Most recipe sites tell you what to do. Step 4: sear the chicken. Step 7: reduce the sauce. Follow along and you might get a good result. Veer off-script and you're on your own.
We built Renardo for people who want to understand what they're doing. When you know why searing matters, you can adapt when the pan isn't hot enough. When you know why pressure cookers speed things up, you stop second-guessing whether the food is safe. The science isn't a sidebar — it's the point.
What we stand for
Easy — for real schedules. If it takes 47 ingredients and 3 hours, it doesn't belong here. Beginner-friendly is the default. When something is more involved, we say so — and explain what makes it worth the extra effort.
Modern tools — built around what's actually in your kitchen. Most recipe content was written before air fryers existed. Everything here is built around the tools people cook with today: air fryers, pressure cookers, sous vide, slow cookers. If it's sitting on your counter, it belongs here.
Science — explanations, not just instructions. "Rest your meat for 5 minutes" is an instruction. "Rest your meat because the muscle fibers relax and reabsorb the juices that would otherwise run out onto your cutting board" is something you remember. We explain the why on every recipe — not buried in a footnote, right alongside the steps.
Renardo publishes in English and French from day one. Every recipe, science article, and equipment guide ships in both languages — because good cooking advice shouldn't depend on which side of the language line you live on.
